Two parks become special gifts on New Year’s Eve 2018. The two parks have increasingly beautified the face of Pontianak City that is A Yani Park and Arboretum Park Sylva Untan Pontianak.
These gardens utilize the land belonging to the University of Tanjungpura (Untan) Membangun Negeri Pontianak which terlockeak in addition to the Faculty of Engineering Till and Sylva Untan. The facilities provided at Taman A Yani include skate park area, 3 on 3 mini basketball court, Chess Park, selfie zone, digital library, landscape plant, park bench and General Electricity Filling Station (SPLU).
While at the Park Arboretum Sylva Untan provided park facilities rooftop garden and relief hero Digulis as well as plaza and park bench.
Mayor of Pontianak, Sutarmidji inaugurated both parks on the eve of the turn of the year marked by the signing of inscriptions and ribbon banners on Sunday (31/12).
Sutarmidji explains A Yani Park is a result of renovates from the park that already existed and not well ordered so less interesting.
While at the Arboretum Park Sylva Untan, it equips the park with diorama fighters symbol of Tugu Digulis to commemorate the struggle of the heroes.
“The park is integrated with some community needs. Teens need a place to play skateboarding, playing basketball. There are also those who need digital libraries, and others can enjoy the RTH. We integrate here, “he said.
This park as an alternative or option other than Taman Digulis so that visitors do not accumulate in the park. People can also do jogging in this park. The existence of this park as a variable of community happiness. According to him, if many people who visit the parks and enjoy the comfort of being in the park, then it is part of the happiness.
“Here also visitors can charge the phone through SPLU. We try SPLU is free, electric voucher bore by the municipal government because PLN already provides the tool, we just fill the electric voucher, “said Sutarmidji.
Meanwhile, Rektor Untan, Thamrin Usman said, the land provided for these parks on the basis of mutual thinking between Untan with the municipal government of Pontianak. The land was transformed from previously unattractive land into a very attractive green space. The facilities available in this park provide opportunities and comfort for the whole community.
“Not only for the citizens of Pontianak City, but also the immigrants who visit Pontianak,” he explained.
Head of Public Works (PU) Ismail, said the construction of these two parks is one of the efforts of Pontianak City Government to provide open green public space.
Development of these parks, he added, is a cooperation between Pontianak municipal government with Untan.
